Our WPA AGM Evening Reception took place on the 10th floor of Derwent London’s spectacular 25 Baker Street, developed in partnership with The Portman Estate.
160 members and guests gathered to hear from Westminster City Council’s Leader-elect, Cllr Paul Swaddle OBE, for one of his first addresses to the industry.
In his keynote speech (read here), Cllr Swaddle set out a clear commitment to prioritising growth, delivery and partnership, reinforcing Westminster’s role as a thriving global economic centre. As he noted:
“Westminster’s prime office and retail offer is a national asset. Protecting and growing it is not a political choice; it’s an economic necessity.”
In WPA Chair James Raynor’s (Chief Executive, Grosvenor Property) address to members, he emphasised the importance of partnership and the critical role of the built environment in supporting economic prosperity. He highlighted that the sector is fundamental to Westminster’s success.
James also set out the WPA’s priorities for the year ahead: supporting a thriving, sustainable and more inclusive Westminster, underpinned by strong collaboration between the public and private sectors. Read his full speech here.
