07 Mar 2017

‘Strength in Numbers: Funding and Building More Affordable Housing in London’ is a research report that looks at two of the main barriers preventing boroughs from building; the cost of land and the availability of funding. It highlights the potential for cross-borough collaboration on meeting affordable housing targets and calls on the GLA and Government to support these partnerships.

The report argues that local authorities should be encouraged to build to meet local needs and examines how different types of funding for affordable housing could be better utilised. It makes a case for cross-borough partnership and collaboration, and makes practical recommendations for the Government, GLA, Mayor of London and other parties to to help tackle the affordable housing crisis.

This research was produced by Centre for London and sponsored by Westminster Property Association.
