Oxford Street District Seminar

Over 150 members of WPA and New West End Company (NWEC)  attended our joint Oxford Street District seminar this morning to discuss Westminster City Council’s ambitious new strategy for the area.

Hosted in partnership with NWEC, members were able to hear directly from Westminster City Council on their updated plans for this key West End district and details of the consultation that will run until 16 December.

After an initial presentation by Deirdra Armsby, Director of Place Shaping at Westminster City Council, a panel of industry experts discussed the ‘Place Strategy’ for the area and the impact for the property industry, the retail sector, local business and communities.

Panellists included:

  • Deirdra Armsby, Director of Place Shaping at Westminster City Council
  • James Cooksey, Chair of WPA and Director of Central London at The Crown Estate
  • Simon Loomes, Strategic Projects Director at The Portman Estate, Vice-Chairman of the Marble Arch London and WPA Board Member
  • Jace Tyrrell, Chief Executive of New West End Company

The full strategy can be found here and we encourage members to respond to the consultation here. WPA will be submitting a response and will make it available to members in due course.
