The worst-case scenario has become a reality for the arts and culture sector: Here is how to get the show back on the road

26 Jan 2021

London Property Alliance (WPA + CPA) joined 18 other organisations and businesses in signing a letter to the culture secretary, calling for an extension of the Theatre Tax Relief Scheme, VAT cuts for arts, cultural and hospitality businesses, a government-backed insurance scheme for theatre, arts and cultural institutions and grant funding to help make cultural venues Covid-19 secure.

The letter, issued by the Heart of London Business Alliance, warned that in a worst-case scenario London’s theatres and art galleries could face a 97% decrease in economic output over the next five years.

The letter received coverage from EG (£) and FT (£).
