On Thursday evening, 22nd of June, WPA hosted a reception for members in The Portman Estate’s latest development, Seven Seymour Street, a 90,000 sq ft mixed-use development at the western edge of Portman Square.
Oliver Fenn-Smith, Chief Executive of The Portman Estate, outlined the successes achieved by the Estate in recent times, and a plan for the future of the Estate centred around placemaking and sustainable development. Members also heard from Eric Parry, Director at Eric Parry Architects, on the vision and structure behind the building. Eric emphasised how the development has been designed to fit into its surroundings, and the unique design features.
With the ongoing Baker Street two-way project and the changes happening to Oxford Street, including the opening of Crossrail, the area is of significant interest and the event proved an excellent opportunity for our members to experience a key development within this important area of the West End.
