NextGen webinar: Strengthening community engagement with digital tools

26 Jun 2020 to 26 Jun 2020
10:00 am to 11:00 am

Prompted by Covid-19, the UK Government has allowed local authorities to use social media and other digital tools to publicise planning applications, meanwhile planning committees are being broadcast online. This move to digital is providing new opportunities for engaging with a wider pool of people in planning system, but does it signal a permanent change within the industry?

This webinar explores how community engagement in the planning system is being impacted by digitalisation. Our expert panel discuss the importance of community-driven development and placemaking; digital innovations cultivated through the pandemic; and whether digital-first engagement is here to stay.

Speakers:

  • Emily Laverick, Marketing Director at Built-ID
  • Hana Loftus, Associate at Public Practice; Director at HAT Projects
  • Nicola Wood, Community Engagement Manager at Grosvenor Britain & Ireland
  • Luke Tatton, Account Manager at Concilio Communications and WPA NextGen Steering Group member (Chair)

The WPA Spotlight Series is supported by NextGen champions Gardiner & Theobald.
